Betty Louise McCollum is a U.S. Representative for Minnesota's 4th congressional district, serving since January 3, 2001. A member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, she has focused her legislative efforts on education, healthcare, and environmental issues. Throughout her tenure, McCollum has been an advocate for policies that support public education funding, access to affordable healthcare, and initiatives aimed at combating climate change. She has also been involved in various committees and has played a role in shaping national policy on these critical issues.
I have been in a couple of eldercare facilities. I am just wondering if--the Rosebud Nation mentioned their eldercare facility was really inadequate.
I look forward to today's hearing, and I want to thank all of the people testifying for their travel to Washington, D.C.
It is a shame that we would lose Native languages not only just for the First Americans, but to lose the languages that saved lives during World War II.
I really think if we took a field trip we could go to Leech Lake and Mille Lacs as well to look at what is going on in the immersion schools.

It was when I was visiting Wisconsin tribes back a couple of years ago that the northern alliance tribes had taken a real aggressive conversation on what to do about drugs and drug addiction.
