Lisa Carmella McClain is a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Michigan's 10th congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, she has been in office since January 3, 2021. While this Committee purports to care about the safety of women, in 2021, when the House voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, 80 percent of the Republican caucus voted against that law.

My bill prohibits any school or university that receives Federal funding from allowing biological males from participating in women's sports.
I must say I am surprised to hear that my Republican colleagues care so much about protecting the, quote, 'safety, privacy, and opportunities of women,' since their voting record and priorities this Congress shows the opposite.
The truth is, is that by allowing biological males to compete in women's sports is fundamentally unfair.
Simply put, this bill will stop the pattern of unremarkable male athletes that switch to women's sports and suddenly come in first place.
If the Biden Administration is successful, it will mean that more women will lose out on academic and athletic opportunities that should have been afforded to them under Title IX.
So, I just want to be clear, there is not a hidden agenda. It is actually to protect women in women's sports.
I want to thank you for your testimony. I know it is heartfelt, and I appreciate it. It means a lot to me, as a mother, as an athlete, as a coach, as a woman.
If schools violate the provision of this bill, they lose access to all Federal funding.
What we need, we have great opportunities in this country for people to be successful if they want to work hard.
