Educating American children should absolutely be a priority. The return on that investment is unmeasurable, really.

I think it is a critical topic for the Nation, for our children, for everyone, so I really appreciate you being here.

If Congress incentivized middle school, high school, to create skilled trades programs, so to speak, for students, do you think that would obviously have a positive effect on our workforce in the future?

In your opinion you believe that schools and educators can adapt quickly, right?

Can education providers be nimble and responsive like business and industry, right?

What are the obstacles and hurdles that are not allowing incentives? What do you see that we can have an impact on to remove those obstacles and hurdles?

The business education partnership has worked?

I urge my colleagues on this Committee to work with me and other Members to strengthen the safety net for America's sugar farmers.

The key aspect of the sugar loan is that to maintain its minimal cost to taxpayers, it must be repaid in full each year.

U.S. sugar farmers generate more than $23 billion in economic activity and create more than 151,000 good-paying American jobs.

I look forward to working with you all to achieve a bipartisan farm bill.

I am sure you are going to get canceled. I am sure I am going to get canceled. But you know what that tells me? My ladder's on the right wall and I am doing the right thing.

Simply put, this bill will stop the pattern of unremarkable male athletes that switch to women's sports and suddenly come in first place.

If schools violate the provision of this bill, they lose access to all Federal funding.

My bill prohibits any school or university that receives Federal funding from allowing biological males from participating in women's sports.

This is about protecting girls and women. This is about protecting our daughters, our sisters, our nieces, and our granddaughters.

So, you know what? I am a woman, and let me tell you, hear me roar, because I will not stop protecting women.

Whatever happened to 'I am woman, hear me roar'? What--what--have we lost our minds? I am here to protect women, girls. My God, why do I have to apologize for that?

A recurring theme from my Republican colleagues and their witnesses is that trans girls are more likely to injure other players during sports.

I want to thank you for your testimony. I know it is heartfelt, and I appreciate it. It means a lot to me, as a mother, as an athlete, as a coach, as a woman.

It is not against any group.

Title IX was designed to give female athletes equality, fairness.

And what harm will come to our female athletes by redefining 'sex' in Title IX to include gender identity?

While this Committee purports to care about the safety of women, in 2021, when the House voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, 80 percent of the Republican caucus voted against that law.

I must say I am surprised to hear that my Republican colleagues care so much about protecting the, quote, 'safety, privacy, and opportunities of women,' since their voting record and priorities this Congress shows the opposite.
