I don’t think that the party is doing enough.

Now it is time to stop the games and get to work building the world-class FBI headquarters that our public servants deserve, where it belongs: in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

He tried to take from Maryland what Maryland had already won. He failed.

I would have hoped that, since he’s never been forward deployed, since he’s never put on the uniform and sacrificed for this country, that he would have more compassion for the people who are willing to, that he would have more compassion…

The response of the president of United States pisses me off. And it should piss all of us off.

So today, with all of you, I’m proud to launch the first pillar of the National Governors Association’s Campaign for America: Service United.

I came here four years ago — that was actually the first time that for many of you I got a chance to meet you. I did not come from the world of politics. I was coming to say that we were going to change that relationship between our state…

The budget gap exists for for two reasons. It exists because for too long we have relied too much on the federal government, and it exists because we were spending more than we were growing.

If there is a local jurisdiction that does not want it, guess what? It will not go there, because local jurisdictions need to have a final say.

Virginia has the largest concentration of data centers — not in the United States, in the world — and the way they did it there cannot and will not happen in the state of Maryland.

I’ll work with the with the legislature to see exactly where we go with this. But I’ve been very clear about where my guidelines are.

Marylanders’ ability to access affordable and quality health care should not depend on their zip code.

Marylanders — and no one else — have the final say over their representation.

Addressing our nation’s workforce challenges requires innovative solutions – and that begins in the states.

So that’s why service matters. That’s why service mattered in the past. That’s why service matters in the present. That’s why service matters in the future.

What this organization does, and what this gathering does, is this: is that here in Oklahoma, and here with the NGA, we are showing that there is, in fact, a different and a better way.

But until that happens, inaction cannot be an option.

Inaction cannot be an option.

By passing this constitutional amendment, the General Assembly has ensured that Maryland remains committed to being part of that conversation—and that the final decision will rest where it belongs: with the people of Maryland.

For over a year, I have warned that Donald Trump and Republicans across the country are working to rig the system, weaken voting rights, and make this pain permanent. I am proud that today we united and took action.

Maryland will not be caught flat-footed while Republicans engage in political redlining that guts decades of progress that the generations before us fought for.

I continue to believe that our country needs national redistricting reform. But until that happens, inaction is not an option.
