I know that DOD regards financial readiness and financial competence to be equally as relevant as operational readiness for a lot of these soldiers.

What we did in part was we gathered data on the banks, we looked at the investments they were making in minority areas.
I have been on this committee now for over 20 years, and we had a grave problem in the mortgage and banking area.
That exposure did a lot, I think. It didn't fix everything, but it certainly moved the needle.

I'm grateful that the legislation included $9 billion in direct economic assistance for Ukraine as well as additional funding for refugee support programs and global emergency food relief.
