These challenges, including the crisis in Venezuela, show corrupt leaders like Daniel Ortega that the United States will not stand by while legitimate regimes crush democracy.

We must do more to pressure the Ortega regime to adopt electoral and judicial reforms and to bring about free and fair elections.

We must send a clear message that we stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Nicaragua.
