Pat Roberts

Pat Roberts is a former United States Senator from Kansas, serving from 1997 to 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he was known for his work on agricultural policy and national security issues during his tenure. Before his time in the Senate, Roberts served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1981 to 1997. Throughout his political career, he focused on issues important to Kansas, including farming and rural development. Roberts was also involved in various committees, including the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, where he played a significant role in shaping agricultural legislation.
I defy anybody on this committee--and including yourself, any witness--to go through this and do it with any degree of efficacy, or efficiency, or knowledge that they have done the right thing.
I just think that we could do better rather than keeping up with the reference to 'fat cat corporate jets.'
Why then does the administration on one hand acknowledge and promote this uniquely American product--business aviation aircraft... then on the other hand vilify and demonize this great American industry?
Can you at least assure me that you could... tell him to put Kansas in the bracket for the NCAA March Madness and also say, will you please quit using the name 'fat cat corporate jets'?
I may nominate you for the Freedom Medal; that's a pretty prestigious award.
the majority of Kansans in the commodity markets are not large banks but instead are small business owners, including farmers and ranchers.
I am sure it is not the CFTC's intent to force small clients out of the futures market, but how would you expect these customers to stay in the market?
I see here that the CBO is estimating an $845-billion budget deficit, and I would add, only if current law is not changed.
Many ranchers simply culled their herds and lost their genetics and many are out of business.
