I am very pleased to be here with the purpose of outlining to you the support that Senator Roberts and I have for Dan Crabtree as a result of President Obama's nomination of him to be a Federal district judge in our State.

I want to do my part to make certain that the judicial positions in our State and across our country are filled with highly qualified, exceptionally intelligent, wise individuals filled with character and integrity.

I want somebody who understands the desirability of justice, that all people are treated fairly, that the law is evenly applied.

It is important, it seems to me, that our ability to come together is particularly demonstrated in the need for the filling of positions, both at the Federal district court as well as the Tenth Circuit.

I consider, as I would guess all of my colleagues do, one of the highlights, one of the greatest opportunities and responsibilities as a Member of the U.S. Senate to assist in finding qualified individuals to serve as judges.
