Dwight D. Eisenhower was the 34th President of the United States, serving from 1953 to 1961. A member of the Republican Party, he was born in Kansas and rose to prominence as a five-star general in the United States Army during World War II. Eisenhower served as the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in Europe, overseeing the successful D-Day invasion and the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi control.
As of now, there is a law that deprives a man of citizenship if he is convicted of an actual attempt to destroy this Government by force.
It is an attempt to help out in cases of unemployment with useful work rather than with work that wouldn't be so useful to the United States.
Everything I send to Congress I believe to be, and the mass of my associates believe to be, for the good of this country.
I would like each of you to ask yourself this question: why was the Constitution formed, and to replace the old Articles of Confederation?
I hope that each of you gets that salary raise that has been so long overdue.
The power of Congress, by subsequent action, to nullify any article of a treaty has never been questioned.
