What concern do you have, and if you have some concern, could you share with us about restarting this program of private debt collectors?

Mr. Commissioner, not too long ago, just maybe about three months ago I received a call at my home here on Capitol Hill. The person said, 'I am from the IRS. We are going to sue you.'

You cannot squeeze blood from a turnip.

You are not going to do it with some bill like this. You are going to do it by giving African-American women better job opportunities and better pay.

So I share the view that something more fundamental needs to change to preserve and strengthen the program for the future.

Because we all aspire to be there one day and we're going to need the Medicare program, and so are the working people of today.

I think Medicare has some work to do to shore up its financial standing for the future.

I do not understand why we are here.

This hearing focuses on a soon-to-be resolved issue.

What are we doing here? What is the purpose of this hearing?
