Education is the fastest path to the middle class. Education is the key. Education is the great equalizer.

I have looked personally in the eyes of families who have come in San Antonio in order to sign up for the Affordable Care Act and to have to tell them: I am sorry, you are too poor to achieve access to the Affordable Care Act.

I for one want to thank you for all of your great and good work, and for your vision in helping to provide health care, not just for the people of California, but for the people of our Nation.

I must tell you, I am upset. And I am very disappointed with today's hearing, with the topic.

Mr. Chairman, there is real work to be done. There are real issues that need to be addressed.

This program simply helps low-income people afford medical costs.

We have been here for a while and you are going over.

Well, it will be good trouble.

We can and we must do better, and we can do better.

We should not waste the time and energy debating how to tear apart the good part of healthcare reform.
