The Federal Government continues to increase its position in every one of these states

Should not the law enforcement on these lands be left to local law enforcement agencies?

The only solution big enough, is to transfer the BLM and Forest Service lands to the states

I think anyone who watched that unfolding fiasco can answer it was completely insane.

The House did send legislation to the Senate earlier this year and in the prior session to do precisely that.

Delay or derail the implementation of this vital, innovative, and broadly supported plan

These regulations are executive overreach in its worse form and that they should be withdrawn immediately

That legislation specifically reinforced state water rights law as it applied to joint Federal and state operation of the Central Valley Project.

This is a proposed rule that the people need to weigh in upon.

Mr. Chairman, I do not believe that is what the American people want.

Do Americans truly want the Federal Government to decide whether they can remodel their home or landscape their backyard?

The EPA now threatens, again through executive fiat, to vastly increase its jurisdiction over virtually all water in the United States.

Both the Forest Service and the EPA failed to consult with the states during the development of these proposals.

The bill if enacted would provide an unprecedented Federal statutory express recognition of and commitment to California State water rights priority system and area of origin protections.

The unconstitutional and illegal assertion of such authority would impose Federal riparian rights in direct violation of current Federal law.

You have been warned and warned and warned of the public resentment that is building.

The preservation of the public lands for future generations doesn't mean closing them to the current generation.

There is a very strong sense that local wishes are not being considered by the Forest Service.

I have to tell you, word for word, what Commissioner McClure has said about the sentiments of local officials in his region are what I am hearing constantly from the local officials in my region.

We need to start holding them accountable.

I think that we need to start holding these managers accountable for their actions.
