The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement will come to order.

Both sides have a lunatic fringe in their movement, ours and yours. Frankly, I find yours far more frightening because--

If we are going to encourage and reward illegal immigration, which is the clear and consistent policy of the Democrats today, then there is no point in legal immigration.

The economic impact on working Americans is catastrophic because it suppresses wages for unskilled and low-skilled American workers.

Opposition to illegal immigration is not opposition to legal immigration.

The Democrats tell us that illegal immigrants are more law abiding than Americans.

That is a supreme insult to the millions of legal immigrants who enter our country every year by obeying our laws.

To equate their lawless behavior with law abiding, hardworking, and patriotic legal immigrants is outrageous, and my colleagues who do so should be ashamed of themselves.

It is time we acknowledge the damage that they did and take steps to assure that they can never do it again.

If we had followed Sweden's policies and had Sweden's results, 340,000 more Americans would be alive today.
