If we had done what Trump wanted to do which was cancel the payroll tax, we would probably have about 4 million more Americans working today.

We did not have a massive spending stimulus. Reagan cut taxes, reduced regulations, and we got control of the money supply with Paul Volcker at the Fed.

Didn't we reach the lowest poverty rate in 60 years under the Trump Administration?

So, frankly, to have a hearing today that is saying that this economic strategy has been a success, is delusional and dangerous.

Government can't put a dollar into the economy without first taking that same dollar out of the economy.

We have got to end the war on American oil and gas.

I think we need to make the Trump tax cuts permanent. They were a success.

And the thing that is so amazing is that the lesson that many on the left learned was we didn't spend enough money.

Thanks to the Republican passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the tax burden on families and job creators fell while federal revenues have grown.

What it did create was the highest inflation in 40 years while spending federal tax dollars on such things as $17 million on a golf course in Florida.

Under every metric, President Biden has worsened the balance sheet of the federal government, the economic outlook for our country and the fiscal health of American families.

Personal taxes decrease the purchasing power of families in the present.

Democrats passed their $2 trillion American Rescue Plan even though the economy was well on its way to recovery.

It is not alright to intimidate the justices during their deliberations.

Over the past year-and-a-half we have watched President Biden and the Democrats continually push an anti-life agenda.

It is, I'm afraid, a very dangerous milestone in the left's attacks on our Constitution and its fundamental institutions.

The Judiciary Committee not only is not standing in defense of our judiciary. It's leading the attacks.

I'd say that nobody has a right to tell you what to do with your own body.

The unprecedented breach of that confidentiality by the leaking of a draft opinion is catastrophic to that process.

James Madison said that in his opinion, the single most important provision in the Constitution was the provision that gave the power to declare war to Congress and not to the President.

It follows that any measure that enhances the President's power should not be in the hands of the President, human beings being what we are.

So, when I see things like price controls showing up in pieces of legislation, they may be well intended we have already seen historically the consequence that happens.
