Ronald Wilson Reagan was an American politician and actor who served as the 40th president of the United States from 1981 to 1989. A member of the Republican Party, he previously held the office of governor of California from 1967 to 1975. Reagan's presidency is noted for significant tax cuts, a strong anti-communist foreign policy, and the deregulation of various industries. His administration also faced challenges such as the Iran-Contra affair and economic issues, including inflation and unemployment.
This coming Thursday we'll celebrate a holiday that belongs uniquely to our nation—Thanksgiving Day.
Our success in this area is one of the accomplishments of which I'm most proud.
Now, more than ever, we'll need to depend on one another to achieve our goals for this country.

America is a more prosperous land, a more secure land, and, yes, a happier land because of what we've done.
You don't know how heartwarming that is to just come back from Iran and be greeted like that.
Let us remember that the underlying long-term message of the election was positive.
Our young people have been spared the ravages of war and have enjoyed the same sweet liberty we possessed as young adults in the United States.
I ask that all Americans give thanks to God on that day for the blessings of family life in our Nation.
