Ronald Wilson Reagan was an American politician and actor who served as the 40th president of the United States from 1981 to 1989. A member of the Republican Party, he previously held the office of governor of California from 1967 to 1975. Reagan's presidency is noted for significant tax cuts, a strong anti-communist foreign policy, and the deregulation of various industries. His administration also faced challenges such as the Iran-Contra affair and economic issues, including inflation and unemployment.
Certainly, when more than half of the loss has already been regained, that sounds as if someone discovered that the economy is still rather sound.
Oh, yes, because we've got a crisis that they brought on over the last 50 years of a deficit that's got to be resolved.
Well, I will listen to what they have to say if they will listen to what I have to say about the fact that raising taxes has always resulted in a lowering of the revenues.
Well, all these excuses are just that, excuses—and they're dead wrong.
Congress throws money at its own priorities but ignores the priorities and the commitments this nation has to help build our national security.
The bill does not comport with constitutional requirements and is otherwise objectionable.
There is nothing in what has happened here that should result in a recession.
