I can't stress enough how strongly I feel the potential for good, for human betterment, and for our own national interest is tied to what we've called the Caribbean Initiative.

It's in our own vital interest to help our Caribbean friends to protect themselves from hostile, foreign-inspired forces that would impose an alien ideology through the use of violence and terrorism.

I never have felt such warmth on the part of just the rank-and-file citizenry.

I believe that we all agree that first and foremost in any consideration of this issue is the fundamental need to protect the health and safety of all our citizens.

The safe and efficient disposal of nuclear waste is an issue of profound concern to all Americans.
