Now, Therefore, I, Richard Nixon, President of the United States of America, do hereby designate the week of November 17 through November 23, 1972, as National Farm-City Week.

I urge the Department of Agriculture, land-grant educational institutions, and all appropriate organizations and Government officials to mark the significance of National Farm-City Week with special events and activities.

For all of this, let us now humbly give thanks.

Take heart! Give thanks! To see clearly about us is to rejoice; and to rejoice is to worship the Father; and to worship Him is to receive more blessings still.

Mrs. Nixon and I extend our heartfelt condolences to Frank Bow's family and many friends.

I hardly need to add that as President, I found in Frank Bow a staunch friend and supporter---a man whose loyalty never wavered and whose commitment was always total.

As ranking minority member of the House Appropriations Committee, he was a strong voice for fiscal responsibility, repeatedly taking his stand against excessive Government spending.

His loss will be felt by his colleagues in the Congress, and by all Americans who value the example of a life well spent in the public service.
