I’m proud to be a Member of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee, and pleased that we were collectively able to put our service members and our veterans over politics.

So, when this Congress funds the military and our veterans, I take that responsibility seriously.

I represent Marines and Sailors on Camp Pendleton—some of the most capable, disciplined, and battle-ready men and women this nation has ever produced.

Coastal communities throughout our district do not want this. Cities up and down the coast have stood together on a bipartisan basis to oppose offshore drilling because protecting our coastline is common sense.

This scheme will not lower prices at the pump. The consequences of offshore drilling would be catastrophic for our communities, our economy, and our environment.

I am encouraged that even in this moment when we still come together across the aisle we can do big things to serve our military and our veterans.

That is unacceptable.

Disabled veterans are not supposed to pay fees when they get a VA home loan. However, many of our veterans who take longer to receive a disability rating are still paying these burdensome fees, which can be a barrier to homeownership.

I applaud the Court majority for affirming Congress’s clear authority, and I hope this is just the first step in ending blatant constitutional violations by this Administration.

This decision is a win for the rule of law and a reminder that when this or any president undermines constitutional checks, whether by overstepping on tariffs, defying the Congressional power of the purse, or other obvious abuses, it’s our…

Congress, and only Congress, has the authority to impose taxes, and when presidents trample that, we all pay the price.

These tariffs are a tax on every American consumer, raising prices and hurting businesses.

I’ve opposed Trump’s tariff scheme from day one, and not just because it’s illegal, but because it’s an economic disaster.

The Dignity Act would reform our broken immigration system by providing a pathway to legal status for undocumented immigrants and strengthen border security.

The Gonzalezes’ case reflects the enormous human cost of this Administration’s deportation policies.

I’ve watched President Trump use every podium, every platform, and every moment of national attention to mislead the American people.

We do not need a three-hour sales pitch. We need lower costs, accountability, and leadership grounded in reality.

Americans are not stupid. They see what’s happening. They feel it every day.

Donald Trump gave the longest State of the Union in history. But it didn’t include a single serious plan to lower costs for working families.

I will fight this every single step of the way because protecting our coastline safeguards our economy, protects our environment, and preserves our way of life.

The consequences of offshore drilling would be catastrophic for our communities, our economy, and our environment.

We won’t tolerate the Trump Administration’s intent to auction off California’s coast for offshore drilling to the highest bidder. Our coastline is not for sale. Period.

When we take that vote, I will oppose a sustained war in Iran.

Congress must be brought into this decision immediately.
