My friends, tonight, we have a chance to make history. Never before has an independent been elected to Congress in California.

We’re not going to let self-serving politicians take away the area’s representation.

We've seen partisan divisions really spin out of control in really harmful ways, and I think exhibit number one is the redistricting wars.

This is our opportunity to provide the leverage that could prove decisive in ending this conflict on acceptable terms in a way that will deter future Russian aggression.
