Frankly, it is outrageous and un-American that we have federal armed vehicles in our parks when nothing is going on in the parks.

To me, this is another example of the administration ratcheting up chaos by deploying what looked like a military operation in an American city.
I just spoke with many of the workers who were trapped. Thank you to all of our brave first responders who acted immediately. You are LA’s true heroes.
But the way that it was portrayed nationally was like the whole city was up in flames, the comparison to 1992, which was completely and 100% inappropriate.
LAFD has just reported that all workers who were trapped in the tunnel in Wilmington are now out and accounted for.
I was so concerned that we were going to find tragedy. Instead, what we found was victory.
Well, let me just say that the quote-unquote 'riots' that were reported never happened.
We will not stand by and allow these raids to continue or to become the standard operating procedure in our communities.
Our city is definitely united … We are a city of immigrants, and we will stand united with Angelenos regardless of what country they came from, when they got here or why they’re here.
Well, they’re going to arrest me for doing my job? As Mayor, my number one responsibility is to keep Angelenos safe.
You have a situation now where people are walking down the street, a car will pull up, no license plate, men will jump out completely masked, pull guns on whoever it is and take them away.
They need to leave, and they need to leave right now. They need to leave because this is unacceptable!
What we have experienced over these last few weeks has just been shocking. As the city attorney mentioned yesterday, seeing troops, some on horseback ride through a children’s summer camp, disrupting that, traumatizing the kids.
It's outrageous and un-American that we have U.S. Marines who are trained to kill foreign soldiers overseas, deployed in our American city.
What I saw in the park today looked like a city under siege, under armed occupation.
