I thank the Chairman for holding this hearing, and I just want to say how impressive the results have been.

Data security is critical to consumers.

Consumers deserve to know that when they hand over critical information...that data will be kept safe.

I think in the effort of wanting to be transparent, it would be very helpful if when you were coming to the Committee right out of the gate you are telling us what needs to be fixed as opposed to this Committee having it to pull out of you.

What specifically in that law is working that we can expand upon?

Our Nation will, by necessity, diminish our dependence on fossil fuels in order to fight climate change, and as we do so, we will need to turn more and more to nuclear power.

I just want to see that this law actually helps our communities fight pollution rather than puts them in a straightjacket.

A better way to control costs of the Lifeline program is to lift people up out of poverty.

Let us work together to address inequality, to improve the economy, to find more people jobs, and the best way to lower the cost of the program is to lift people up not to take away their connection to a better life.

What do we have to do to get a hold of this and to stop the leakage or to reduce the leakage?

Can you explain some of the ways that EPA is working to address drought through technology and innovation?

The gas leak in California has raised the public awareness of how gas is leaking into the environment.

I have been a proponent of water use efficiency, and it is important, especially considering threats to our water supply, for us to protect our water sources and to conserve our water supply.

Clean and safe drinking water should be a guarantee for every American. It is not only irresponsible, but criminal to withhold funds and resources to protect lives.

the plan that you put forth is ambitious. It is good. The VA needs to modernize, and I think everyone on the Committee here is behind this effort.

It is ironic that the title 'External Power Supply' should apply to LEDs, because when you buy an LED at the store for your home it is all internal.

So how does the EPS Improvement Act change that?

I support this EPS Improvement Act because it clarifies congressional intent by clarifying the statutory definition of external power supplies to exclude LED drivers.

So you believe that this actually removing a standard promotes stability and confidence in the market?

We have seen how the Federal construction project has been mismanaged in the past.

We need another model so that we can move forward expeditiously with these projects.

I am open to working with Members of this Committee and Subcommittee to enhance my bill, but I am committed to reforming the process to make sure that we are providing veterans with more opportunities to access quality health care.

Veterans and their families are waiting meanwhile and taxpayers suffer.

Do you feel, Mr. Chairman, that Clean Power Plan threatens the reliability of our electrical infrastructure or any of our energy infrastructure?
