I am certain that at the point in time that the decision was made not to do the due diligence that would have been required, maybe because of cost, in order to prevent that contamination, probably at that point in time not as much was known about the contamination of groundwater and everything else that can occur.

There have been numerous reports of senior executives at the GSEs meeting with Federal policymakers to advocate for being taken out of conservatorship.
I hope this Administration and this Congress have learned something from this failed duopoly and do the hard work necessary to reform our housing finance system.
