Estimates from the Arizona State Mine Inspector indicate that Arizona could have as many as 100,000 abandoned hardrock mines.

Racing is a very important thing to many Arizonans. It is part of our State's legacy.

The goal of this bill and the reason that I support it is to provide a narrow exemption to Clean Air Act regulations.

Would you agree that there are vehicle owners, mechanics, and parts sellers who legitimately want to modify vehicles exclusively for racing?

I hope this hearing is another step forward toward the goal of finding a compromise.
