How can FEMA expedite consideration of this important project to ensure that the city is able to get the flood protection it needs?

During my time as mayor of the city of Phoenix, the FAA unilaterally altered flightpaths out of Sky Harbor International Airport.

Our Nation needs 5G and the capabilities it brings. At the same time, safety of our national airspace must be a key priority for passengers, pilots, and crew.

My top priority is to ensure that the authority I secured for Arizona in the 2020 WRDA receives the Federal investment it needs.

I expect the Corps to respond to me and all the other members of this committee in a timely manner.

Arizona and Phoenix--and Tucson, in particular--were the largest cities in the United States without access to passenger rail service.

The infrastructure plan that was passed by this Congress invested in passenger rail, and the Amtrak CEO called the bill 'absolutely transformational.'

Amtrak has proposed connecting Arizona's two large and fast-growing metropolitan areas, Phoenix and Tucson, with frequent and reliable passenger rail service.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law makes historic investments that will accelerate the pace of Superfund and brownfield cleanup projects across our country.

Given the tremendous backlog of drinking water and sanitation projects across Indian Country and on the Navajo Nation, where an estimated $700 million would be needed to connect everyone with safe drinking water and basic sanitation.

The chronic underinvestment has impacted not only the social, physical, and mental well-being of Tribal members, it has affected the ability of Tribes to fully leverage their economic potential.

There is no area of our country where the need for significant investments in water infrastructure is more acute than in our Tribal communities.

We have advocated this for a long period of time, we have gotten verbal assurances.

It is a critically important project to me, as a former mayor of Phoenix.

What a fascinating hearing and an important hearing, so thank you for holding it.

We must invest in our water infrastructure and secure our water future.

Like Congressman Stanton, we too implore this Committee to not forget the extraordinary needs of our tribal communities.

I appreciate your swift action to rescind the Trump administration's requirement that transit agencies provide an additional 10 percent of local funding under the Capital Investment Grant Program.

It is critical to ensure projects of national and regional significance receive Federal support.

We need the Federal Government to support light rail through Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, and beyond, and to support the construction of new highways, such as Interstate 11.

Congress hasn't always been the best partner when it comes to infrastructure.

This is a bipartisan issue. I know there are Members of the minority party in this Congress who care about this issue just as much as I do.

Time is running out for these Americans, and it is long past time that the Federal Government take responsibility for its actions.

It is a cruel injustice that ignores the reality that they have lived for decades.

Thousands of Arizonans have suffered from cancer, entire families have suffered from cancer, and far too many have died.
