If this would have been in place a few years ago when the market collapsed, we would have had a firewall in front of the taxpayers.
It is essential that these institutions can offer their customers fixed-rate mortgages at affordable prices.
I just cannot imagine--there is another proposal being put forward in the House that would remove any Government backstop.
