Earlier this year, the House unanimously passed the Treating Tribes and Counties as Good Neighbors Act.

I thank the gentlelady from New Mexico for setting up my question so well by talking about the Tribal Forest Protection Act and the Good Neighbor Authority.

Cutting agency funding, as proposed in their appropriation legislation, won't help.

While I am sure this bill is well-intentioned, I believe that it is misguided and would not advance the interests of transitioning service members.

This bill would more closely align VA with how our committee delineates veterans policy issues.

This legislation would open up the Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship Program to more veterans pursuing further education.

By providing this additional information, my Bill allows those seeking to use their GI Bill benefits to obtain education to make the most informed choice possible.

My bill seeks to increase transparency and centralize this useful information for veterans.

I look forward to working with you and the VA and my colleagues here today on this important legislation, to ensure that we are addressing the unique needs of each and every veteran.

Last Congress, I introduced the Strengthening Courts for Kids and Families Act.

I introduced a bipartisan bill, along with Representative Don Bacon of Nebraska, H.R.

I am proud to be a part of the long tradition in the Ways and Means Committee of enacting important bipartisan legislation to improve foster care and better prevent child abuse and neglect.

That legislation transformed Congress' approach to child welfare by moving away from the historic practice of providing funding solely after a child entered foster care.

Yesterday, we received the quarterly patient safety data that was mandated by Representative Frank Mrvan's EHR Transparency Act in the last Congress.

I look forward to continuing to work with my House and Senate colleagues to ensure that we get this bill finalized and enacted into law as soon as possible.
