The DACA program was being terminated

It is incumbent upon any public servant and particularly an attorney to act with fairness

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program was created over 5 years ago, and it has allowed thousands upon hundreds of thousands of hardworking young people to have status that defers their deportation.

What is your perspective on the fairness of that

At a September 27th hearing, I asked Acting Secretary Duke to extend the October 5th renewal deadline for DACA recipients.

Let us pass the DREAM Act. I agree. A clean DREAM Act. I agree with you.

DHS has consistently made clear that the information provided by applicants would be safeguarded from other immigration-related purposes.

Individuals whose cases are deferred pursuant to DACA will not be referred to ICE.

Have you instructed the agents on the ground about which are the highest enforcement priorities versus the lowest?

Are you willing to keep America's promise to these young people and not share their information with ICE?

These young people are terrified. They are terrified.

I believe that this Committee has done a great job of conducting congressional investigations when we have found that there are Americans who are at risk of harm and violence.

I am troubled because if you are unaware of those requests, it suggests that there is not a sufficient priority for Puerto Rico in your agency.

What would we craft? What would that policy look like? And, why do we not go in reverse order and start with you, Professor Corlette.

I could not agree more, Senator Peters, and I know Senator Johnson feels the same way, which is that we need more transparency in the system.

What do you believe will be the impact of the Trump Administration's proposed 30 percent budget cut to the EPA's Superfund program from $1 billion to $762 million?

We should reject efforts to expedite cleanups if it means cutting corners on health and environmental standards.
