The bottom line is: Oregon’s elections are secure, accurate and fair.

People in state custody with limited English proficiency should not receive worse care simply because they can’t communicate as well with the people responsible for their health and safety.

Oregon’s adults in custody are in the care of the state, and it is the state’s responsibility to ensure they are safe and healthy as they are held accountable for their actions, go through rehabilitation, and prepare to return to society.

We’ll pursue every legal authority that we have. We’ll work with our Department of Justice.

This is not about improving elections. It’s about putting political pressure on the people responsible for administering them.

We successfully defended Oregonians’ private voter information in federal court, and we’re working closely with county clerks across Oregon to strengthen election security.

There’s hundreds of (dropboxes) across Oregon. That is an even safer, more reliable way because we don’t have to worry about the post office.

Today, in yet another a win for Oregon voters, a federal court blocked President Trump’s March 2026 executive order restricting mail-in voting and infringing upon states’ authority to administer elections.

That means that more people are making sure that power answers to them, not the other way around, and that I think is probably why Oregon has become a target for the Trump administration.

We already have strong physical security and operational measures in place, and where the federal government is stepping back, Oregon is stepping up.

My message to the President: We’ll see you in court.

If he had any inclination to actually understand or care about the American people, he'd know that mail-in voting is really the best way to protect everybody's right to vote.
