Our democracy works best and New Mexico benefits overall when more registered voters are able to participate in our elections.

We had a successful first Semi-open Primary Election thanks to the members of my team, county clerks, and the poll workers who have worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth voting process for all those who participated.

The most important thing to remember is election night results are unofficial.

I’m really encouraged at the level of participation.

We will never sacrifice accuracy and security in tabulating our votes over efficiency.

I am proud to say, this year, New Mexico's election administration was ranked No. 1 in the Nation.

We can do both at the same time, both make sure elections are secure and accessible.

I believe both Federal and State law enforcement agencies are taking these threats seriously and diligently and we must show the public that threats against election officials will not be tolerated.

Many people now believe that our country's highest office is occupied by an illegitimate President.

Since 2020, however, lies and misinformation about how elections are run and about the people who run them have proliferated to an unprecedented degree.

Many people now believe that our entire election infrastructure is corrupted and has been weaponized to exclusively favor one political party.

But isn't it true by implication that ballots cast in Wisconsin by absentee drop-box deposited ballots were illegal in the 2020 election?

I fear that threats coupled with the general vitriol online and in the media directed at all aspects of our elections will cause them so much stress and uncertainty that they will simply not want to do work anymore.

It`s not OK. It`s not normal.

the beliefs that these folks have bought into, besides the fact that they are not based in evidence or facts or reality, they are also being propagated intentionally.

Individuals who are charged with very clear mandatory duties can just choose because they have feelings that are not based in any facts and evidence about how our elections are run to not certify our elections, we face a breakdown of our…

Is someone who participated in an insurrection and was prosecuted for it really someone who should be able to oversee our elections going forward? How is that OK? How is that normal?

7,300 voters, Republicans, Democrats and libertarians in that county here in New Mexico would not have had their votes counted. And that would have been an absolute travesty for our democracy.

I think that we`re looking at is a concern for a Democratic, a breakdown of democracy, a breakdown of the process moving forward if they don`t do the right thing.

Criminal prosecution is on the list, as well as removal from office, for these commissioners who are violating the law.

Waiting until November cannot be an answer. That will cost us at least 25,000 more victims.
