This imbalance makes it really difficult to support.

The work we do abroad matters to Americans here at home. It makes us safer, it makes us more prosperous, and it engenders goodwill that strengthens alliances and global cooperation.

We keep trying to pound a round peg into a square hole. We keep doing the same thing. We keep getting the same results.

Did we learn nothing during the 20 years we spent in Afghanistan?

This is not an appropriate use of U.S. taxpayer dollars.

For example, the budget correctly identifies China's predatory and coercive activities as a major threat to the U.S., our allies, and our interests.

We need an explanation of this.

Regarding Ukraine, the Administration has spoken at length about its unwavering commitment to the Ukrainian people.

Whose interests will be advanced by this money? Certainly not America's interest and certainly not our ally, Israel.

So really, I am excited about this, and it would be like working with Senator Casey, of course, in our State, because we really want to expand on that success here in Pennsylvania.

I have seen it happen again and again, that a simple leak, which is a cancer for a home, if there is a leak in the roof it can go dilapidated rapidly.

Protecting SNAP and preventing fraud is not a Republican or a Democratic issue, though. I think everyone agrees on that.

It is outrageous that people who have drug convictions cannot get SNAP.

We are facing, in this country, also, not just a hunger crisis but a nutrition crisis.

SNAP is great. It needs to become a nutrition program.

Food banks are really critical for the support and foundation of SNAP.

I am concerned about proposals to limit this.

I think whenever we entertain any of this we have got to make sure that we are getting value out of whatever we are proposing.

This work requirement has been in place since 1996, and was passed with bipartisan support, including that of Senator Joe Biden.

I also plan to introduce legislation, the HAND UP Act, that will ensure SNAP is implemented in a way that measurably improves the employment outcomes of able-bodied Americans.

Hunger is not a Republican or Democrat issue. It is all of our issue that we have to take on.
