First of all, let me just say that the State of West Virginia thanks you all for your service, and we have the utmost respect.

Has there been any movement--I know I keep hearing that there might be some movement on Qadhafi leaving.

It looks like there's no way of backing out of that thing right now, until he's gone.

I made a commitment that day to not rest until we made every improvement necessary to our mine safety laws.

I believe we need to have a process where we have a discussion about the implications of what's going on right now.

I think a lot of West Virginians share your belief with that.

This continuing resolution method that's going on here--and I'm new here--I'll tell you, is the worst thing you could ever do.

It's appalling that we can't do them.

How would a year-long continuing resolution make a difference in the completion of this project?

If we're going to keep pace with China. It looks like we're using China as the standard bearer right now.

Most West Virginians believe that the most important thing that we can be concerned about is the security of this Nation, being more energy independent.

As you know I come from a State that's an energy producing State.

I absolutely agree that we need a broad policy that's in place.

We try to use it all.

I don't know anyone really realizes how much our coal is being purchased. How many of our reserves are being owned by foreign countries such as China, India, Russia.

We can reduce our carbon footprint by using our coal in cleaner fashion.

We're going from according to DOE, 2 percent of the world's battery manufacturing to 40 percent within the next 4 years.
