I hope for the audience and those listening in that this is obviously this is some of the first steps of the election campaign of 2020.

If you believe in Medicare for All, a single-payer, Government-run, 'one-size-fits-all' healthcare system, we should have a hearing on it right here in this subcommittee.

I am disappointed that we are holding a passive hearing that doesn't move toward the development of any policies to improve healthcare for Americans.

Single-payer healthcare would be another failed attempt at a one-size-fits-all approach to healthcare.

I just hope that everyone on the panel will recognize that what we do here is, we are just part of a big system.

Unless India reduces its emissions, the result will be a climate catastrophe regardless of anything the United States does.

American action alone will not make the difference needed to impact global climate change.

If anyone thinks that decarbonizing America is going to save the planet, whether that is 10 years or 20 years from now, you are delusional.

If we are trying to eliminate greenhouse gases, why isn't someone promoting a gasoline tax because it's proven time and time again that that's going to be the quickest way to eliminate greenhouse gases?
