Over and over again, we see from the Trump Administration a clear disregard for congressional oversight responsibilities as an equal branch of government.

We need to take back the constitutional powers we have given away to successive administrations.

We are asking these questions because Congress has not authorized war with Iran, as we reaffirmed on the House floor last week.

We are asking these questions because the American people do not want to go to war with Iran.

It is ultimately the objective for the decennial census to ensure that we have a fair and accurate count of all of America.

The idea that it is just customary and ordinary is flat out false.

We want everyone counted, as the chairman said in her opening statement, citizen and noncitizen. The Constitution requires it and fairness demands it.

I thought I heard from your testimony that maybe there was a more malign purpose behind adding a question that formerly has not been asked in the census survey, as I understand it, since 1950.

Without commenting on content, my reaction to this briefing was, it was sophomoric and utterly unconvincing. And I believe more than ever, that Congress needs to act to protect the constitutional provisions about war and peace.

I am proud to be a cosponsor of H.R. 4331, the Tibetan Policy and Support Act, to update and strengthen the Tibetan Policy Act of 2002.

Bipartisanship is not intrinsically good or bad. It is not a goal in and of itself, it is a means toward an end.
