If it's possible to get us data for the record in terms of that list of people who qualified for bonuses and/or got bonuses, and how many of them left the company or stayed with the company?

How much did AIG get pumped into the company directly from appropriated dollars from this body?

I think they need to be put on an exchange. I think they need to be standardized, and there needs to be a lot more transparency.

By my estimation, these are simple requests for us to fulfill given the tremendous sacrifices we ask of these individuals.

Had we in fact closed Metro that day, I think we would still be in gridlock in this region.

I have introduced legislation, Mr. Chairman, to authorize transit extensions in the Orange, Blue, Yellow and Purple line corridors.

We also need to understand how we can move to extend Metrorail service in our region.

I have some legislation that is before the House Finance Committee. We are going to have hearings in May on that legislation that would address that situation.

My view is we should have Federal voting representation so long as Federal funds are flowing.

I am pleased to assure my colleague, in the Dulles corridor, we completely re-did the re-zoning at high end density so that it will be a transit-oriented development corridor.

With a new administration and a pending transportation authorization bill, I believe that we can jump start extensions to transit service here in the national capital region.

For the past 8 years, we have had to work with an administration that appeared to be ideologically opposed to funding extensions to transit systems.

It is scandalous that the Federal Government provides a pittance for transit service to the national capital region.

Though many may not be familiar with the acronym WMATA, it is absolutely essential to the operations of the Federal Government.

I have just three things that I want to bring to the Subcommittee's attention; the first has to do with land preservation and protecting drinking water sources and the establishment of public park land.

I do think that some kind of standard set by the EPA on low-impact development could make a difference.

I personally believe the Federal Government has got to be a leader here in the way that we do our construction.

The need is for EPA to enforce that science, and certainly what we have heard from Ms. Jackson says she will.

There are things we can do as policymakers in local government especially that can make a big difference.

Having this hearing I think is terribly important.
