Jason Chaffetz is a former Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Utah's 3rd congressional district from 2009 to 2017. During his tenure, he served as the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, where he was known for his focus on government accountability and transparency. Chaffetz was a vocal critic of the Obama administration and played a significant role in various investigations, including those related to the Benghazi attack and the Clinton email controversy.
It is neither logical nor responsible for the Federal government to own and manage surplus lands.
Federal land ownership is a heated, but critical, topic in my home state of Utah, and I appreciate the Committee for holding a hearing and advancing this dialogue.
It is totally unacceptable to think that our troops would be there without immunity as they enjoy currently.
Our kindness and our generosity is being abused in this case. And it needs to stop.
I don't think it is enough. We have to get a better handle on this, and I think it needs to be a tighter rein and a greater concern for the theft, the theft of billions of dollars of American taxpayer money.
The waste, fraud and abuse that is happening in the theater of war is unacceptably high.
