This is a great example of what is possible in America.

I know this law is working.

I do hereby proclaim the week of October 8 through October 14, 2006, as National School Lunch Week.

We must do more to help parents use their options when their children are trapped in struggling schools.

I reject that notion. I strongly believe every child has got the capacity.

Every child can learn, and every school must teach.

We are measuring results and holding schools accountable for teaching every student to read, write, add, and subtract.

It is paramount that the Federal Government work with the State government and local governments to make it clear that our schools are places of learning, not places where there will be violence.

The most important function of Government at home is to make sure that a child receives an excellent education.

The No Child Left Behind Act is a historic law.

We trust the local folks. I don't want Washington, DC, running the schools.

There can be no compromise on the basic principles of NCLB: Every student must read, write, add, and subtract at grade level.

If we fail to give our students the skills necessary to compete in the world of the 21st century, the jobs will go elsewhere.

Measuring is the gateway to success.

Charter schools work, and they can make a difference in the lives of our children.

Bringing every student up to grade level requires a quality teacher in every classroom.

We need to strengthen it. The law is working. It makes sense.

We need to bring the same high standards and accountability of NCLB to America's public high schools.

Parents ought to have different options if a child is trapped in a school that won't teach and won't change.

Each child matters. Every child has potential.

We're sending a clear signal that we're a nation of law, and laws will be enforced.
