For too long, my party wrote off the African-American vote, and many African-Americans wrote off the Republican Party.

And in order to be able to deal with this crisis, the world must deal with Hezbollah, with Syria, and to continue to work to isolate Iran.

I want the world to address the root causes of the problem. And the root cause of the problem is Hezbollah.

Syria is trying to get back into Lebanon, it looks like to me.

It is this provocation of Hezbollah that has -- has created this crisis. And that's the root cause of the problem.

See, the irony is what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit, and it's over.

The president says he is ready to veto such a bill if it passes, and it is expected to pass. That would be his first veto.

All sovereign nations have a right to defend themselves against terrorist attacks. However, we hope that there is restraint as people respond. And one of our concerns, of course, is the fragile democracy in Lebanon.

And who caused the problem is Hezbollah and Syria and the Iranian connection.

Whatever Israel does, though, should -- should not weaken the Siniora government in Lebanon.

My biggest concern is whether or not actions taken will weaken the Siniora government. The democracy in Lebanon is an important part of laying a -- you know, a foundation for peace in that region.

We seek the advance of democracy for the most practical of reasons. Because democracies do not support terrorists or threaten the world with weapons of mass murder.

Whatever Israel does, though, should not weaken the Siniora government in Lebanon.

Syria's housing the militant wing of Hamas. Hezbollah has got an active presence in Syria.

It's really sad, where people are willing to take innocent life in order to stop that progress. As a matter of fact, it's pathetic.

Well, they have got plenty of time. I mean, the -- the U.N. Security Council, they have got time to react.

I'm confident the American people understand that when it comes to our security, if we need to act, we will act. And we really don't need United Nation's approval to do so.

I'm hopeful that we can get some U.N. action on North Korea.

Israel has a right to defend herself. Every nation must defend herself against terrorist attacks and the killing of innocent life.

Syria needs to be held to account. Syria is housing the militant wing of Hamas. Hezbollah has got an active presence in Syria.

The Bush administration sees Syria and Iran behind Hezbollah's attacks as well as being behind the insurgency in Iraq, making this a dangerous and crucial moment for the United States.

It's really sad. As a matter of fact, it's pathetic.
