If the standard of identifying a federal role rests on whether the private industry has the capacity to invest in R&D, then I think the answer to the question is that DOE should focus its investments on reducing and wherever possible…

It is also unfortunate that President Trump appears to be taking no safeguards to protect himself from these cyber threats.

One thing the Committee never seems to address is the public health effects of Americans breathing in air pollution.

I don't think that is an excuse to let people in Dallas, Houston or San Antonio get sick and suffer.

The total health care savings from regulating ozone even slightly more stringently than before runs well into the billions of dollars every year.

These regulations would also reduce COPD, cardiovascular disease, and other negative health effects.

Challenging missions and transformational science are what we expect of space programs worthy of this great nation.

This morning, we hope we're going to get a status update on NASA's management and its programs, particularly cost and schedule status on its large missions.

Thank you very much, Chairwoman Comstock and Ranking Member Lipinski for holding this hearing to learn more about technologies that are being developed to help improve the quality of life for our injured veterans.

As I mentioned in my opening statement, we now have an International Space Station transition plan that Congress mandated and NASA delivered.

The future of International Space Station is of great consequence to our continued leadership in space exploration and utilization.
