I do express my sympathies for the victims and my condolences, as well.

I am a strong supporter of the Affordable Care Act and I look forward to the next few months to learn how it will be implemented across the country.

I commend you and the President for writing a budget proposal that as a whole puts our country's health system on the right path forward.

So what we are trying to do is give the American public the same level of confidence in these mega-institutions that we have given in banks by using the FDIC.

Many of the rules that this bill aims to stop are rules that directly affect both my constituents and companies that employ my constituents.

That was thanks to the intervention of Congressman Al Green, who is a representative in Houston, and because of that the U.S. State Department has passed information about the victims to the Russian police.

Congressman Al Green who spoke out, and also thanks to the State Department, my sister Huong and six other victims were released and were allowed to return to Vietnam.

The question is not really whether there is a role, but whether we will take the time to fashion and craft a meaningful piece of legislation without anybody's recommendation so that we may have the role codified into the law.

I would hope our committee would sometime get to the point where, OK, let us see what we can do to fix it.

I think it is exceedingly important that we do our very best to stay on target, stay on focus.

It is our responsibility, our duty, to balance the needs and the rights, the rights of consumers and the needs of those in the financial services community.
