Last question in regards to time. We made a recommendation last Congress that we should travel less and work more.

I think there is probably some room for some innovation within committees to speed up that process.

I think about time a lot, because we have limited time, and we are rarely here.

The president needs to stop this ASAP.

That is just a policy problem. The world is going to go on.

We got policy problems and we got legal problems.

Does anybody think it is a good idea that if enough members in the majority party were to meet an untimely demise, that a motion to vacate the chair could switch the balance of power?

We try to make Congress better. We try to modernize Congress. That is our mission, more effective, efficient, and transparent for the American people.

A Congress that can't function also opens the door to unilateral executive branch control which defies constitutional intent.

The problem is, after 9/11, we dug deep and tried to figure out what we would do in a worst-case scenario.

We have also made a recommendation to have some co-working space where... Members could get together and collaborate.

Thank you for hosting today's Member hearing. And thank you for your leadership. You all really have been so critical in implementing a lot of the recommendations that the select committee has made.

I hope the appraisal we are about to do on the property that I have comes back great.

The appraisal industry is by its very nature somewhat subjective.

The emerging claim that any trust can combat inflation reflects science denial.

Last year, Democrats ignored Larry Summers when he joined Republicans and warned of the risk of inflation that the so-called American Rescue Plan posed.

The evolution of the so-called experts and the leftist politicians on inflation over the last year has been absolutely incredible to behold.

I am getting hit in the campaign issue because I purchased--I spent money to up the office that I am saving money because I consolidated.

It is important to highlight here that our committee doesn't make recommendations merely for the purpose of building a historical record. Rather, we are here to make actual change to improve how Congress works.

In my view, our hearing today has two purposes: first, to give our witnesses, our partners in implementation, an opportunity to discuss the good work that is being done to improve the House and help us better serve our constituents…

I am going to go ahead and tell you that if in the next decade, the one party is in the Congress and the other party is in the White House, they are probably not going to be legitimately doing the things that they ought to be doing.

I think this is an extremely important issue. Really, in the last 20 years, we have seen a hyper partisanship.

So, I have been in Congress for 3 years now, and--well, I will be fair. This is the same before and now.

It is easier--well, everybody is playing gotcha all the time, and it is easier to put things together at the last minute.

We have not had a single--well, maybe one amendment adopted by the minority party.
