I think one of the biggest challenges our society is facing is right here.

I am really looking forward to today's discussion on out-of-the-box approaches to improving how Congress works for the American people.

The American people are too smart for this. It will not work. They know exactly who is responsible for the 40-year high levels of inflation we are seeing.

None of these attempts to explain inflation have worked, and with the midterms quickly approaching, and the President's approval ratings in the gutter, my friends are throwing mud at the wall in the hope that something sticks.

Another day, another new excuse from my friends across the aisle trying to explain their role in causing record-breaking inflation.

Congress is an 18th century institution using 20th century technology to solve 21st century problems.

I think about time a lot, because we have limited time, and we are rarely here.

Last question in regards to time. We made a recommendation last Congress that we should travel less and work more.

I think there is probably some room for some innovation within committees to speed up that process.

The president needs to stop this ASAP.

We got policy problems and we got legal problems.

A Congress that can't function also opens the door to unilateral executive branch control which defies constitutional intent.

The problem is, after 9/11, we dug deep and tried to figure out what we would do in a worst-case scenario.

We try to make Congress better. We try to modernize Congress. That is our mission, more effective, efficient, and transparent for the American people.

Does anybody think it is a good idea that if enough members in the majority party were to meet an untimely demise, that a motion to vacate the chair could switch the balance of power?

That is just a policy problem. The world is going to go on.
