I have had a long-standing interest in seeing justice done in this case. The gentleman can be assured that I support the timely payment of compensation from the German Government in response to claims from surviving family members. Accordingly, I will support legislation that seeks to achieve that objective when it is considered for inclusion in the National Defense Authorization Act for the Year 2000.
