In light of the emerging evidence of North Korea's missile threat to the United States and our forces in the region, the conferees expanded the provision to include not just Taiwan but all of our allies in the Asian Pacific region. This is an important provision of the conference report, and I appreciate the gentleman's interest and leadership in this area.
