But we are finding more and more that students are not having that same opportunity, and, in fact, research from the Brookings Institute predicts that by 2023, nearly 40 percent of borrowers may default on their loans.

An accessible, affordable education is crucial to the advancement of our society and to the future and wellbeing of people that we are here to represent.

If a college degree continues to be the surest path to economic mobility in our society, we need to make sure that everyone has the resources, especially financial resources that they need.
