I think we spoke before of the H.R. 40 concept of reparations.

I think that is important to put on the record, they did not pay for themselves.

They are so desperate for distractions as they defund our classrooms and deprive our teachers that they are banning books and censoring teachers and bullying LGBTQ+ kids.

Republicans are claiming it is about parents' rights to be involved in their children's classes. Which parents?

These numbers show what is really happening. Teachers are being forced to bow to a very vocal minority at the expense of the overwhelming majority of parents and teachers and, most importantly, all of our students.

But the reality is, is that we know it is not CRT; it is not wokeness, whatever that is; it is not gay books.

Cutting funding, banning books, and censoring curriculum is not the answer.

It is much easier to make teachers a political punching bag than to invest in our communities, even though that investment works.

My Republican colleagues would rather deprive DHS of the reasonableness and resources it needs.

This impeachment proceeding is not going where we want it to go.

It is up to Congress to provide funding to interdict fentanyl, fix our broken immigration system, and provide help for those suffering from opioid addiction.

We must break the cycle of drug addiction and end the needless loss of life from fentanyl and fentanyl-related overdoses.

I don't believe the record supports grounds for impeachment here, no.

No one should ever have to experience the loss of a child.

I would say that my colleagues across the aisle are simply just trying to put lipstick on a pig.

It is a political stunt. It is an attempt to distract from a do-nothing Congress...

Let's drop this baseless impeachment and get back to doing the real work of securing the homeland and helping people across this great country.

Impeaching him, is that the answer to saving our children?

We should not ignore the pain of these parents. We can do both.

I believe we have seen a lot of evidence today of mental dullness at high tension...

What is worse is that the Republicans on this committee are not leveling with Americans about the actions that they have taken or not taken to secure the border and combat drug trafficking.

So if we are not talking about the Constitution, what are we talking about? Well, we are wasting our breath...

We need more resources and we need more skilled personnel.

Instead of considering politics, policies to improve security along the border or prevent drug trafficking and treat fentanyl addiction, we are willing--are sitting here today at a futile impeachment proceeding.

The fact is impeachment is a waste of precious time that could be used to legislate on these urgent issues, if only Republicans were willing to do so.
