Thank you, Mr. Chairman.

I think both the White House and the Senate have some work to do.

And I thank you for that, and if we can leave that matter open, I think the judges were forthright in their assessment.

I wonder how that relates to justice?

I want to thank you for I think retracting the furlough, but I do think it is important in the comprehensive immigration reform to not underestimate the need for more patrol agents.

What kind of resources could we quickly galvanize for them working with the State of Texas?

We want to be a partner. This is a road map.

It may be that the time was used up by voter oppression.

Voter suppression is not democratic, and I am not understanding why we are here trying to malign a gentleman who worked vigorously to enhance the opportunity for all Americans to vote.

The Office of Professional Responsibility as it relates to the New Black Panther Party did confirm that no mishandling occurred, no professional misconduct, no exercise of poor judgment.

I would only offer a caveat and suggest that the hearing should be renamed to 'We Lost the Presidency, and Mr. Tom Perez is at fault,' because I see no reason for this hearing.

I want to thank Mr. Conyers for refreshing our memory on one of the most hope springs eternal moments of this Congress and this Committee, which was the reauthorization in 2006-2007 led by Mr. Sensenbrenner and many of our colleagues here.

I am going to expound on the question and ask the rest of you the same question.

I'm going to try and have some rapid-fire questions, and I thank you for bearing with me.

This is a, sort of, inquiry that we are making together and the framework is one that we are making together.

I don't believe that we should hold up comprehensive immigration reform because as Judge Escobar said, that will contribute to your being able to do a better job.

I embrace it totally and believe that it is a long-overdue policy and legislative initiative that should be passed.

Let me also acknowledge Congressmen Beto O'Rourke for championing the value of understanding the border and providing us with insight as relates to the expertise that is in his Congressional district.

I am very pleased with your leadership and us working together on a very important component of America's National security.

First, I'm glad that we are creating a record for something that I believe is enormously important.

I think it is important to note that you are following a policy supported somewhat by law that either Congress has set over the years through immigration policy.

I appreciate the work that your office does, the work that you all do in Washington, D.C.

I think it also is a jobs question as well.

And it should respond to this crisis of separating our families.

Does the industry see, as you grow and we find more supporters of all the above or most of the above, that you will have to diversify and reach out to Hispanic, historically-Black, and redo your workforce?
