I think the policies in President Trump's budget are more likely to lower growth than they would be to raise it by cutting the type of investments in our people and in our infrastructure that we need for future economic growth.

I cannot imagine that we would sit here and talk about not being concerned whether Americans are dragging themselves through the streets with no jobs and maybe nothing to eat.

Is it not clear that Russia is our enemy and the enemy of the world?

Are we more secure when the President, in the midst of a tragedy in London, bashes the mayor of the city of London?

Are we more secure when the President meets with two Russian operatives... and jeopardizes the Classified information of the American people?

We now understand that the President's tweets are public policy, are the policy of the White House.

The billion-dollar border wall is one that is ineffective.

The biggest tax cut a person could receive is not paying any Federal income taxes at all.

Meaning that there is no travel ban--there is no Muslim ban. You are not operating under a Muslim ban right now.

I hope that, going forward--I hope we don't have that order in place, but going forward, that those dispatched in local offices can recognize that we are on their team seeking information.

I think sometimes policies cause our very dedicated staff persons to really have to perform in a way that is inconsistent with our values of democracy and justice and fairness for all.

I hope that we can work on these matters in a bipartisan manner and expand to look at a number of other issues that impact the security of Americans.
