I, like so many Americans, find this behavior contemptible and far beneath what we should expect from our country's leaders.

I find this hearing very disturbing in that we have elected officials misleading the public, attacking the foundations of our democracy.

those who are noisily and shamelessly trying to subvert our justice system are the same ones who seem to have both the most to fear from those ongoing investigations.

the blatantly political and misleading rhetoric which we have been subjected to today undermines the seriousness of this Committee's work.

The author of that study has repeatedly expressed great distress at the way her study has been misrepresented.

Make no mistake; today's hearing is not about protecting children or parents' rights. It's a cynical and, frankly, dangerous political attack on transgender children and their families.

What I said was that parents have the ultimate right to make the decisions concerning appropriate medical care for their children.
