We see that the former president, whose name I`m not going to use, is continuing to try to water those seeds of discontent, to continue the big lie.

This was an insurrection, an attack on our democracy.

Democrats are focused on something much more important, and you’ve seen what we’ve accomplished.

It’s literally un-American, unconstitutional, but it is what a shrinking Republican Party is up to.

If elected leaders like those on the fringe, Madison Cawthorn and others, would stop the lies, we would have no need for this fencing.

They wanted to kill us. They wanted to hang the vice president of the United States.

We need as a country to stop listening to the former president. He represents the worst of us.

Mark Meadows -- it`s gravely disappointing and of course, we`ll need to hear much more about these phone calls, e-mails, and others trying to persuade people to say the election was fraudulent when 60 courts or more said it was not.

But for Donald Trump, we would not have had an insurrection at the Capitol. He fed the lies for months and months and months and then after the election, when it was so clear that he had lost, he continued the lies.

It is shameful that the Republican members of the House and the Senate do not support our Capitol Police, our Metropolitan Police.
