Now folks knew exactly who he was when he picked him. He received over 40 percent in a field of nine or ten candidates. This is the modern day base of the Republican Party.

He is so dangerous. He is so extreme.

We see the flashing red light out there that Doug Mastriano is, and we refuse to look away. We refuse to ignore it. We’re going to stand up to it.

It’s beyond the pale. It’s not normal, and it should not be acceptable in our politics today.

That's not freedom when he says, yeah you all can go vote in Pennsylvania, but I'll choose the winner.

It's not freedom when you tell a woman what she can do with her body.

I am well aware that our democracy, which was born here in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where we have a unique responsibility to defend it, I am well aware that that is on the ballot in this governor's race.

It's very, very dangerous. The stakes are very high.

If Josh Shapiro is elected Governor of Pennsylvania, abortion will likely almost certainly remain legal in Pennsylvania. And if Doug Mastriano, the Republican is elected, it will be illegal.

He has been poised to be the Republican nominee for weeks. He has led in every public and private poll, oftentimes by a healthy margin, even before Donald Trump at the 11th hour jumped into this race. I think what we’re trying to do is…

He offers a lot of dangerous and divisive rhetoric, and the only thing more dangerous and divisive than his rhetoric are his policies -- policies that, again, with criminalize abortion here in Pennsylvania.
