Protecting SNAP and preventing fraud is not a Republican or a Democratic issue, though. I think everyone agrees on that.
I will work in this farm bill to modernize SNAP to work for recipients in the 21st century.

Each and every one of those people are Americans, and they should have the same access to vital programs like this.
We are seeing, in my communities across New Jersey, how SNAP is a powerful program that needs to be protected, and frankly, needs to be expanded.
I also plan to introduce legislation, the HAND UP Act, that will ensure SNAP is implemented in a way that measurably improves the employment outcomes of able-bodied Americans.
We are facing, in this country, also, not just a hunger crisis but a nutrition crisis.
